What are Single camera techniques?

A single camera technique is used when a scene is filmed with one camera and the shots are edited to seem like one fluid scene. ( clue is in the name)
when a scene is filmed with more than one camera, they are connected to a video mixer. This gives a variety of shots it is broadcast live.
most films use single cameras unless they need to film are large and expensive scene like an explosion.

Advantages :

  • Easier filming in small spaces 
  • Keeps equipment costs down which is easier when making a low budget productions 
  • keeps crew costs down 
  • It's easier to create and control your desired aesthetics, you don't have to worry about if the lighting and scenery can be read by 1 camera than several.
